5 Best Headphones with SD Card Slot Reviewed

best overall
iJoy Bluetooth Headphones Over Ear, Wireless and Wired Foldable Headset Built-in Microphone, FM, Micro SD Card Slot - (Stealth) Adults Kids Men Women - Audifonos Auriculares Inalambricos

iJoy Bluetooth Headphones

iJoys Bluetooth Headphones offer incredible value for money. They are over-ear, foldable, unisex headphones that fit adults, teenagers, or children. Not only are they unbelievably affordable, but they also offer incredible sound quality.

what we Like

  • Can use it wired or wirelessly
  • Fantastic sound quality
  • Deep, full bass
  • Exceptionally low price
  • 6-Month exchange warranty

Know Before Buying

  • Bad microphone
  • Low-quality charging cable

The iJoy Bluetooth Headphones are not what I would have expected to put at the top of this list as the best overall option in headphones with SD card slots. However, it is an impressive device in many ways.

The price is absolutely incredible. It’s the most affordable headset in this review, which is not usually a good sign, but in this case, it’s just one more reason to buy them.

The sound quality is excellent. It has good dynamic range and a deep base and packs quite a lot of volume. There’s also a bass boost, and though it’s not quite as powerful as that of some other headphones, it is potent enough to make a significant difference.

The earcups are very comfortable and breathable, but they also seal well enough to ensure good passive noise cancellation. Most average external noise won’t affect you too much. It has an excellent range of features, too. Apart from the SD Card slot, it also features Bluetooth and 3.5 mm connectivity, and a built-in FM tuner.

The headphones are also foldable, making them very convenient to carry.

On the downside, the manufacturing quality isn’t excellent. They are flimsy, especially around the hinges, so they are not great for heavy-duty use. Don’t fall asleep with them, either, since that seems to weaken the hinges even more.

The charging cable is also a bit weak. Mine started to show some weak spots within two months. Furthermore, the microphone is terrible, so it’s not great for use with phone calls. It works, but you might have to repeat a word here and there.

Overall, as headphones, this iJoy set is exceptional. Anyone who needs headphones for general listening will be impressed with the sound quality, especially at the price point. However, they are not ideal for someone who spends lots of time on phone calls, and they may not be the best option for very active people, either.

best DURABLE
ZIHNIC Bluetooth Headphones Over-Ear, Foldable Wireless and Wired Stereo Headset Micro SD/TF, FM for Cell Phone,PC,Soft Earmuffs &Light Weight for Prolonged Wearing (Black)

ZIHNIC Bluetooth Headphones

These ZIHNIC Bluetooth Headphones are close to the iJoy model. They are also foldable over-ear headphones, but they have an incredibly comfortable and lightweight design that makes them perfect to wear for long periods of time.

what we Like

  • Can use it wired or wirelessly
  • Good sound quality
  • Sturdy design
  • Affordable price
  • Exceptionally comfortable

Know Before Buying

  • Moderate Bluetooth reception
  • High sound leakage

These ZIHNIC headphones have most of the features you would expect. They support wireless and wired connectivity through Bluetooth and a 3.5 mm cable. They also support FM and have a convenient SD/TF Card slot so you can listen to your own MP3s without connecting the headphones to any external devices.

Apart from this, their sound quality is quite good – almost on par with the iJoy model, though they don’t have as much bass. The volume range is surprisingly good, though, and you can easily listen to music with the headphones hanging around your neck rather than over your ears.

Where the ZIHNIC really shines, though, is in comfort. It’s very lightweight, so you won’t feel like the headphones are weighing you down after listening for an hour or two. The earmuffs are also designed for comfort, so you will barely notice the headphones after a while.

However, it also has its share of caveats.

Firstly, the microphone’s gain is relatively low. Though the quality is decent, you must speak up a bit to be heard clearly.

Another significant problem is its Bluetooth reception. When I connect the headphones to my phone, which is in my pocket most of the time, it occasionally loses connection. Not ideal at all.

But perhaps a more crucial problem is its battery life. I struggled to get two hours out of these headphones on a full charge, especially when using Bluetooth or an SD Card, though I never had the volume exceptionally high. For headphones that are so comfortable that you can listen all day, it’s a pity that the battery can’t keep up.

Overall, these headphones are an excellent buy for someone who wants sturdy but comfortable headphones at a decent price point. However, for anyone who will be listening for several hours between charges, the ZIHNIC headphones are not ideal.

best VALUE
PowerLocus Bluetooth Over-Ear Headphones, Wireless Stereo Foldable Headphones Wireless and Wired Headsets with Built-in Mic, Micro SD/TF, FM for iPhone/Samsung/iPad/PC (Purple)

PowerLocus Over-Ear Bluetooth Headphones

PowerLocus is becoming a pretty popular headphone brand, so I had to test this model – and I was pleasantly surprised. These over-ear headphones have excellent sound quality, a sleek design, and all the features you could wish for.

what we Like

  • Stylish design
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Great microphone
  • 15 hours battery life
  • 24-month warranty

Know Before Buying

  • Irritating “low battery” reminder
  • Slightly flimsy 3.5 mm port

The PowerLocus Over-Ear Bluetooth headphones are excellent value for money. They offer most of the features and build quality you would expect from a premium headphone brand but at a much lower price.

The sound quality is excellent. PowerLocus offers a wide dynamic range with crisp bass. The headphones also include good passive noise filtering, so I found them great to wear even when I wasn’t actively listening to anything, just to help me focus without external noise distractions.

The microphone is also very good – it’s the best microphone on this list so far. It also has noise filtering, so your voice will carry clearly over a phone call without ambient noise being too much of an issue if it’s even noticeable at all.

Its 15 hours of battery life is also great at this price point, though I found it depends mainly on how you use it and the volumes you listen at. However, I had no trouble getting through an average working day on one charge with these headphones.

It’s unfortunate, then, that they are not the most comfortable headphones. I found my ears started hurting after wearing them for about an hour, despite adjusting them until they felt the most comfortable. Maybe that will be different for other users.

However, that brings me to another unfortunate downside: the irritating “low battery” reminder. Once the headphones’ battery reaches about 30%, you will start hearing an automated voice saying “low battery” about every 15 to 30 seconds. This is a problem for anyone who, like me, likes to watch Netflix in bed at the end of a long day before putting the headphones on charge.

In summary, these PowerLocus headphones offer the best value you can get for the amount you’re paying. Anyone who wants close-to-premium headphones at a well-below-premium price would do well by going for these.

best ANC
Bluedio T2 Plus Turbine Wireless Bluetooth Headphones with Mic/Micro SD Card Slot/FM Radio (Black)

Bluedio T2 Plus Turbine

Bluedio is another brand that’s made quite a name for itself, and the Bluedio T2 Plus Turbine is the culmination of years of research and product improvements. It has all the expected features: an SD Card slot, Bluetooth connectivity, a 3.5 mm headphone port, and even an FM tuner.

what we Like

  • Solid build quality
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Comfortable
  • 195o Rotary design
  • Great Active Noise Cancelling

Know Before Buying

  • Only Bluetooth 4.1 support
  • Sound leakage

The Bluedio T2 Plus Turbine is an excellent set of headphones. Apart from the SD Card slot, it also offers Bluetooth connectivity and an FM radio. The build quality is exceptionally high for the price point – the headphones look and feel premium with their high-tech design and sturdy structure.

The sound quality is also excellent, especially for those who like plenty of bass, since the headphones feature 57 mm drivers. You couldn’t ask for better volume, either. They are also very comfortable, even after wearing them for several hours, and the 195o rotary design ensures that they are easy to carry.

However, the headphones’ most exceptional feature is the Active Noise Cancelling. For a set of headphones at a fraction of the price of more premium models, they offer similar (if not better) noise canceling than some brands that cost ten times more. You will have no problem focusing on your music with Bluedio.

However, there are three drawbacks to keep in mind. First, it has extreme sound leakage, which is quite strange for headphones that isolate so well. Secondly, the microphone suffers from the same problems that many budget Bluetooth sets suffer from, which is low-quality and low-volume sound.

The other drawback is that these headphones only support Bluetooth 4.1. It’s not a major drawback in terms of connectivity; they connect to most new devices effortlessly. However, they don’t support the Apt-X codec, which reduces latency. This means the audio and video may go out of sync when you’re using your Bluedio headphones to watch movies or TV shows.

These Bluedio headphones are an excellent option if you’re looking for premium headphones with premium features without paying a premium price. Just keep in mind that the microphone is sub-par, and you might have some trouble with audio latency when you’re watching videos.

best FOR SPORTS
VZ MP3 Player with Bluetooth Headphone Included 16GB TF Card Lossless Sound Sweatproof for Running Gym audiobook

VZ Sport Mate

This VZ model is slightly different from the others in this review. Made for athletes and people living an active life, the VZ Sport Mate looks like bone conduction headphones, but they feature in-ear buds and a built-in MP3 player.

what we Like

  • Lightweight design
  • High-Resolution audio
  • Built-in MP3 player with multiple-file support
  • 16GB SD Card included
  • Sweatproof

Know Before Buying

  • Doesn’t fit all ears
  • Limited PC connectivity

Taking inspiration from bone conduction headphones, the VZ Sport Mate is a lightweight pair of earphones connected with a thin strap that goes around your neck. This makes them comfortable and easy to wear during a run or hike.

In reality, the Sport Mate is an MP3 player with built-in earbuds. You can quickly switch it between Bluetooth and SD Card functionality. It comes pre-packaged with a 16GB SD Card, which you can expand up to 128GB by inserting another card.

The MP3 player supports various file formats, including MP3, WMA, FLAC, WAV, and APE. This means nearly any downloaded music should work. The sound quality is also great since it supports high-resolution audio, though the audio playback is not quite lossless.

On the downside, however, the Sport Mate is a bit temperamental when it comes to the music it plays. Despite the supported file types, some files simply won’t play, which probably has to do with the encoding system used to create the audio files.

Another potential negative is that the Sport Mate can be a pain to connect to anything other than a smartphone. Even though it may connect to a PC or laptop without issues, it often seems to lose connection. But, in fairness, the manufacturer mentions that the headphones only support smartphones.

Though the headphones are quite comfortable, the earbuds don’t seem to fit all ears equally. I had no problems with it, and there are a few ear tips included, but people with smaller ears may struggle to fit them in or find them a bit uncomfortable.

If you live a very active lifestyle, the VZ Sport Mate is a great option when you’re looking for headphones with an SD Card slot. For anyone else, there are better options out there.

Guide To Buying Headphones with SD Card Slot

There are a few factors you should consider when choosing a set of headphones with an SD Card slot.

Sound Quality

If you are an audiophile, you should opt for headphones that offer the best sound quality. All these models have good sound quality that will please most, but audiophiles should definitely not settle for anything less than the best.

Features

Most of these headphones have similar features, but there are some differences, like support for 3.5 mm cables or built-in FM tuners. You have to consider your needs before you buy.

Battery Life

Battery life is another crucial consideration for many. If you are only using your headphones for an hour or two each day, it shouldn’t be a problem, but you should opt for one with better battery life if you want more.

Our Verdict

Though all these headphones are excellent, the iJoy Bluetooth Headphones with SD Card Slot are still the best option overall. It has an excellent balance of features and sound quality combined with an unbeatable price.
